This steel dome (for use with Sigma 6 and Omega 6 ceiling loudspeakers) is specially zinc passivated, and is fitted to prevent damage to the loudspeaker by falling objects from above.

Using the dome has little effect on the SPL levels from a loudspeaker, though it may affect the frequency response.

The dome is round, with a hexagonal base and three ‘slide bracket’ fittings for ease of installation. The height is 132mm.

According to BS5839, steel domes are fitted to prevent damage to the loudspeaker by falling objects from above. Steel domes do not provide fire protection.

Recessed loudspeakers, with or without domes, must never be fitted to a fire-rated ceiling.
