IRR-ST23 INFRA RED STETHOSET RECEIVER - 2.3MHz 18-0050-225

This small stethoset receiver (2.3/2.8MHz High Band Frequency) is for normal listening and not for assistive listening for the hearing impaired. It can be used with any of the ADSworldwide infra-red transmitter modules (IRT-45H, IRT-M110 or IRT-M400).

Switching the stethoset on and off is effected automatically as the stethoset arms open when put to the ears and close when taken off. There is a stereo balance control on the back of the unit. For customers with some hearing loss but who do not use hearing aids, an alternative set of perforated silicone earpieces are supplied to use in place of the standard ones. These reduce reception of the lower frequency range and thus assist speech intelligibility for these users.

The receiver can be placed directly into the transmitter cradle on the IRT-45H to recharge its battery cell, or the battery cell can be removed from the receiver and placed into the side of the IRT-45H transmitter or into a port on the BCH-12 battery charger.

The cells are environmentally-friendly Nickel Metal-hydride batteries, which in normal use will provide several hours of continuous use per charge and have a long life-expectancy. Normally an exhausted battery cell would be fully re-charged after an overnight charge in the battery charger.

Please Note: Infra-red receivers operating in the low band (95kHz and 250kHz) can suffer from fluorescent lighting interference. In cases where high frequency fluorescent and/or incandescent lighting are used (this includes modern energy-saving lamps) the infra-red signal may become unusable. In these cases use the high frequency infra-red systems operating above 2MHz.
